Le Thy

Le Thy (1919 - 1961) was active/lived in Viet Nam.  Le Thy is known for Painting.

Indeed, following the closure of the School of Fine Arts of Indochina in which he studied under the direction of Nam Son, Lê Thy returned to work in Saigon and notably frequented the workshops of Thu Dau Mot. The lacquers he produced at the time were marked by a simplification of forms and an almost Art Deco inspiration. This inspiration rubs shoulders on this work with the classic gold backgrounds of its beginnings. He will become from 1947 one of the most prominent master lacquerers in South Vietnam. Indochina, circa 1950.
