Artist Biography & Facts
Ludovico Cavaleri

Ludovico Cavaleri (1867 - 1942) was active/lived in Italy.  Ludovico Cavaleri is known for Landscape painting.

Ludovico Cavaleri conceived his paintings with imagination and sketched them by elaborating the chosen subject down to the details with intimate dedication. However, his landscapes and marinas were not invented: he lived them, observing the landscapes for a long time until turning them into pictorial reality. In his works we do not find the minute and the graphic or descriptive details that we can find in some of his contemporaries, but a real human interpretation. Ludovico Cavaleri's passionate industriousness earned him great appreciation, with awards including a gold medal at the National Exhibition of the Society of Fine Arts in Milan in 1893, in 1900 the diploma of honor at the Gorizia International, in 1902 a medal gold to that of Munich, in 1907 a first class gold medal in Barcelona, and again in 1925 a medal from the Ministry of Education at the Exhibition of Friends of Art in Turin.
