Rudolf Schlichter

Rudolf Schlichter (1890 - 1955) was active/lived in Germany.  Rudolf Schlichter is known for New Objectivity, political art.

Schlichter was a German artist. He moved to Berlin in 1919 and became involved in the November Group and the Dada movement with his friends George Grosz and John Heartfield. He was interested in left politics and contacted the KPD. Schlichter was one of the most important representatives of the New Objectivity and was represented with some works in the corresponding pioneering exhibition in Mannheim in 1925. He used art as a weapon in the political struggle against the upper class and militarism.
