Saya Saung

Saya Saung (1898 - 1952) was active/lived in Myanmar.  Saya Saung is known for Painting.

Saung is the only Burmese painter in the Western style who has been honoured with the title 'Saya'. Regarded as the founder of the Mandala school of watercolour painting, it is likely that he was influenced by Ba Zaw, whom he would have known even before the latter's studies at the Royal College of Art in London (1927-30).
