Darcy Presiloski was born in Vermilion, Alberta, Canada and lived on a farm in southern Alberta during her early childhood. She now resides in Calgary and enjoys depicting the people, animals and situations typically found at Alberta rodeos and ranches. She completed a Bachelor of Education degree in 1982 and then raised a family.

Although she has always sketched and painted, only recently with her three sons grown (almost) has she been able to devote more time to artistic pursuits.
