Eduardo Chicharro, born in Madrid, found his artistic vocation as a child, before the age of eight years old.  Chicharro not only drew and painted but also showed skill as a sculptor working with any clay he found.  Soon he combined schooling with his artistic training.  He attended the classes given in the Promotion of the Arts having Eduardo Montesinos as a teacher as well as two prominent painters of the time and Balaca Mateos.  He went to the School of Arts and Crafts.  At fifteen he entered the Academy of Fine Arts of San Fernando, where he was student of Carlos de Haes, Alejo Vera, Luis de Madrazo, Jaime Morera and José Moreno Carbonero, frequenting the studio of Joaquin Sorolla.  To further his studies, he traveled to Rome as a pensioner, France and Holland.  At the Academy he stood out quickly, being probably the most awarded painter of his time.
