Jessie Walton was born in Dallas, Texas. She attended Highland Park High School and then went on to Southern Methodist University where she studied with artist Frank Reaugh.  She learned how to conquer the pastel medium under him.

She exhibited at the Texas Annual in 1946, 1947, 1951 and in 1953 won honorable mention in 1947 and 1951.
 
Jessie Walton died in Dallas, Texas in May of 1993.
