Rudolf Dzurko ( April 1, 1941 - June 23, 2013 ) was an amateur artist from Pavlovec in eastern Slovakia. He devoted himself to art in his spare time, otherwise he worked as a lathe operator, mason, fireman, glassworks worker, delivery man and construction worker.
Rudolf Dzurko was born in 1941 into a "gypsy" family in Pavlovice in eastern Slovakia. At the age of four, he and his father went to work in northern Bohemia in places after the displaced Germans.
He made a living from many professions, and did not take part in the first exhibitions until the 1970s, when he was invited to ethnographic exhibitions such as The Art of the Czechoslovak Gypsies or Our Fellow Citizens.
In 1979 he started working as a partner in the automation of railway transport in Liben , but only a year later he moved to Prague with Kobylis permanently with his then wife.
