Francisco Paya Sanchis was a Spanish artist born in Valencia, Spain. He began drawing at a young age and trained at the San Carlos School of Fine Arts in Valencia. He won several prizes and medals and later moved to Madrid where he obtained the chair of History of Art at the School of Arts and Crafts in Santiago de Compostela. He participated in National Exhibitions of Fine Arts and w

He settled in Almería and founded the Provincial Archaeological Museum before moving to Barcelona in 1940. He held individual exhibitions in various Spanish cities and worked as a painter until his retirement in 1962.
