Barton Frederick Meier was born in Brooklyn, NY on May 2, 1892. Meier enrolled at Otis Art Institute in Los Angeles in 1919 and studied for six years. During the 1940s he was a technical illustrator at Douglas Aircraft and later a technical photographer for E. F. Twomey Company. He remained in Los Angeles until his death on April 2, 1963.
