Benny Andrews (1930 - 2006) was active/lived in New York, Georgia.  Benny Andrews is known for Ethnic genre painting, abstraction, collage.

Best known for large collage paintings on canvas, Benny Andrews did work that verges on caricature, many of them related to his African-American heritage in the South.

He was raised in Morgan County, Georgia and was baptized in the Plainview Baptist Church, a subject he depicted in a body of work titled The Revival Series.  In this series of about 26 drawings and gouaches, he explores the theme of the Christian religion in society.

Another series is a chronicle of the life of his brother, who committed suicide.

Bennie Andrews died of cancer on November 10, 2006.
