German artist Erich Buttner was born in 1889. From 1906-1911 Erich Büttner studied at the educational establishment of Decorative Arts Berlin under Emil Orlik and trained as a painter and graphic artist. Since 1908, he was a member of the Berlin Secession. He was celebrated as a major portraitists (eg he portrayed painter colleagues such as Corinth, Grosz, Zille and the former teacher Orlik).
