Maurice Crozet was born in Switzerland in 1895. Crozet studied in Nantua (in the Ain department) and then at the École des Beaux-Arts in Geneva. As a friend of Paul Poiret, Crozet designed printed fabrics, wallpapers, carpets, glassware, ceramics and vases for the Sèvres porcelain factory, interior decorations, a tapestry-covered smoking room for the Nationale de Beauvais factory and decorative panels for the school in Bessancourt.(Oxford University Press 2020)
