Artist Rick Fleury says of his current work: "As my direction in painting continues to move like a wandering back road, I find myself drawn ever closer to the medium of oil and the simplicity of the landscape. I continue to look to simplify my approach while at the same time reach for more complex challenges in terms of scale and composition, content and emotion."

About the artist:

Rick Fleury has been painting coastal landscapes and still lifes of the Outer Cape and Martha's Vineyard for more than ten years.

A self-taught artist, he has created work that has appeared in several Provincetown shows and galleries as well as in juried shows in Cambridge, Boston and Florida. He has been a year-round resident of Provincetown since the winter of 1997.
