ROBERT ( 'Robbie' ) WHITNEY COLLINS (1976-  )

Robbie grew up in the San Francisco Bay area, and early on was inspired as an illustrator, painter, photographer, and musician.  In his teens, he lived and studied in France, sketching cityscapes, historic ruins, as well as rural landscapes.  In the Lake Tahoe region of Nevada, he would sketch and create watercolor paintings, with encouragement from his art professor grandfather.

Collins continued his study of art at the University of Virginia, with an emphasis on architectural design, and he found inspiration in the local landscape as well as historic structures such as Thomas Jefferson's home, Monticello.  A summer semester spent studying music at Berklee College of Music in Boston gave him additional exposure to colonial buildings.
