Rockwell Carey

Rockwell W. Carey (1882 - 1954) was active/lived in Oregon.  Rockwell Carey is known for Land-seascape, figure, still life.

Carey exhbited early as 1897 at the Oregon State Fair winning a prize. He studied at the Museum Art School in Portland, later worked on WPA projects. He was a plein air impressionist, and later his styled evolved to post-impressionism, expressionism and cubism. Carey also did lithographs in representational and abstracts styles.

He was associated with Oregon artists C. S. Price and Charles Heaney. Carey spent some time in Santa Barbara, California.
