Sigit Santoso was born in Ngawi, East Java, 1964.  He studied at Faculty of Fine Arts – Indonesian Fine Arts Institute and graduated in 1993.  He has actively participated in numerous group exhibitions since 1987.  In 2003, he had his solo exhibition in Jakarta.  In 1994 he was nominated among the best 10 of the Phillip Morris Group of Companies of Indonesian Art Awards and received award for Best Work at Biennale IV.
