Sueellen Ross minored in art at the University of California, Berkeley. She studied children's book illustration at the School of Visual Arts in New York City.

In 1980 she decided to devote her talents to animal art. Her work can be found in corporate and museum collections. She has worked as a juror for art shows and teaches art workshops.

Ross has authored several books including "Paint Radiant Realism in Watercolor, Ink and Colored Pencil," North Light Books.
