Walter Albert Engelhardt was born in Illinois on Oct. 25, 1893, the brother of artists Henry and William Engelhardt.  Walter was a resident of Hollywood, CA by the early 1920s.  He maintained a residence at 6231 DeLongpre and the Engel Art Shop at 6707 Hollywood Blvd.  He died in Los Angeles on Jan. 4, 1956.  Using a bright palette, he painted bold, decorative landscapes of southern California.
