Bewabon Shilling (b.1977)

A prominent Ontario, Canada painter and draftsman, Bewabon Shilling was born in Orillia, Ontario and currently divides his time between Rama, Ontario and Toronto. His works have been exhibited at Roberts Gallery,* Toronto for almost a decade and he has been the subject of a solo exhibition at the MacLaren Art Centre, Barrie, Ontario (November 30, 2019 – March 2, 2020).

His primary medium is oil paint on canvas; however, the Orillia Museum of Art and History (see sources for link) has photographs of several installation projects created by Shilling. His painting subjects include still life, landscapes, figures, interiors and self portraits. His most popular painting styles could be described as Expressionism* and Fauvism*; some of his other works could be described as Abstraction* and Color Field Painting*.
