Alan Horton Crane was born in Brooklyn, New York. 

Member : Salmagundi club, Audubon Artists, Society of American Graphic Artists, Philadelphia Water color Club, Washington Print Makers, Print Club of Albany, Prairie Print Makers, Guild of Boston Artists, Rockport Art Association and the North Shore Arts Association.
