Gay Faulkenberry

Gay Faulkenberry (Born 1952) is active/lives in New Mexico, Oklahoma.  Gay Faulkenberry is known for Still-life, florals, interiors, landscapes.

A painter of still lifes, florals, landscapes and interiors, Gay Faulkenberry does much of her painting en plein air, which requires her to travel to locations where the air is clear and light and "is almost a tangible part of the scenery." She was born in Stillwater, Oklahoma but through childhood travels, had early exposure to Taos, New Mexico near where her grandparents owned a lodge. There the special light left a strong impression on her, but it was the presence of human beings in landscape, indicated by the structures where they lived and worked that inspired her the most.

In 1994, Faulkenberry and her husband and son moved to Taos for several years and then returned to Oklahoma near her family and settled in Duncan. She has also done much painting in Europe.
