Gustavo A. Bronstrup was born in Santa Clara, CA on March 21, 1869 of German parents. Bronstrup was living in San Francisco at the time of the 1906 earthquake. He was a cartoonist for the Chronicle for 35 years before his death in San Francisco on Nov. 30, 1933.
