Lois Denton

Lois Denton (1887 - 1980) was active/lived in Texas.  Lois Denton is known for Landscape, still life, interior, figure.

Lois Coleman Denton is known as a painter of oils and pastels specializing in still-life painting and landscapes. In addition to her painting skills, Denton spent many years teaching fine art.

Denton was born in Clay County, Texas in 1887. Following graduation from high school, Denton taught art in the Henrietta Public Schools. She married in 1909 and moved to El Paso in 1913 where she taught in the public schools for forty years.

During World War II, Denton resided in California working as a draftsman in developing the B-17 bombers. She attended the University of Southern California, Los Angeles, and took classes at the Otis Art Institute, Los Angeles, the Cornish School of Art, Seattle, and Texas Western College, El Paso, Texas.
