Mary MacCord

Mary Nicholena MacCord (1864 - 1955) was active/lived in New York, Connecticut.  Mary MacCord is known for Landscape, still life, marine painting.

Mary Nicholena MacCord, once a resident of Manhattan and Bridgeport, Connecticut, was recognized throughout her career for her fine sense of color and use of a pointillist technique to depict intimate landscapes and street scenes.  She first exhibited at the National Academy of Design in 1916 and contributed on a regular basis until 1927.  MacCord also exhibited at the American Water Color Society, the Connecticut Academy of Fine Arts, the National Arts Club, and the National Association of Women Painters and Sculptors, among other venues.

After her death in 1955 her estate was distributed among several Bridgeport charities.  Before her death, she had arranged to establish the Charles William MacCord Fund at the Salmagundi Club, created to aid sick, needy, and disabled artists associated with the organization, in honor of her brother.
