Richard Andrew Chase (1891 - 1985) was active/lived in Illinois, Kansas.  Richard Chase is known for Urban landscape-street-sky line painting.

Richard Andrew Chase   (1891-1985)

Born April 19, 1891, Columbus, Kansas.

Studied at the Art Institute under Karl Buehr, Leopold Seyffert, Leon Kroll and George Oberteuffer, and at the Cape Cod School of Art under Charles Hawthorne and Richard Miller.  He was a member of the All-Illinois Society of the Fine Arts and Chicago Galleries Association.

He has exhibited in the Chicago Artists Exhibitions and International Watercolor Exhibitions at the Art Institute of Chicago, Arts Club of Washington, D.C., Taylor Art School, Saugatuck, Michigan, University of Illinois, Haish Memorial Gallery, De Kalb, Illinois.

He won the Julius Rosenwald Purchase Prize at the Art Institute of Chicago in 1928.  His studio was at 1447 North Dearborn Street, Chicago

The artist died January 29, 1985 in Columbus, Kansas.
