Vincent Farrell

Vincent Farrell (1928 - 2008) was active/lived in California.  Vincent Farrell is known for Portrait, land-and seascape painting, florals.

Vincent Farrell lived in Laguna Beach California for over 45 years.  He studied under Sergei Bongart in the 1960's.  In the 1960's his paintings were typical in style to many impressionist painters. However, in the 1970's he was one of the few Laguna Beach plein air painters to use bright colors and bold strokes in his landscapes, seascapes, florals, and portraits.  His brightly colored impressionist works became much sought after in the 1970's, 80's and 90's. 

He was commissioned to provide paintings for a number of hotels in the United States. A collection of his work can be seen at the Embassy Suites Hotel Mandalay Beach Resort, where about 25 paintings and several murals are located. 

He taught classes in Paris and in his gallery in Laguna Beach for many years. 

He was born Douglas Forbes and has some early paintings signed with that name.
