Barry Thomas (Born 1961) is active/lives in Arkansas, California.  Barry Thomas is known for Mother/children, still life and landscape painting.

Arkansas Impressionist artist, Barry Thomas, is noted for canvases filled with light, energy and vivid color.

This six foot plus Little Rock, Arkansas painter looks like he would be more at home on the football field than holding a paintbrush, which he actually did at one time, playing for the famed Lou Holtz at the University of Arkansas with the Razorbacks. With the encouragement of Coach Holtz, Barry decided to follow his dream of becoming an artist and went on to study at the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California, from which he received his fine arts degree.

A year following his graduation, he was chosen for the Society of Illustration Hallmark Award.  Thomas worked in illustration and commercial art until he was able to focus on his fine art career.  In his artwork, he prefers bright colors, the exclusion of browns and black, and uses broad, heavily-impastoed brushstrokes.  Often his subjects are mothers and children, or still-lifes. <   ...  [Displaying 1000 of 4570 characters.]  Artist bio
