Achille Vertunni (1826 - 1897) was active/lived in Italy.  Achille Vertunni is known for Landscape paintings.

Achille Vertunni studied at the Academy of Naples at the Landscape School under the guidance of Gabriele Smargiassi and Pergola, and with Bonolis the figure. In 1853, he moved to Rome, where he alternated his interest in historical subjects with that of pure landscape. He regularly participates in the annual exhibitions of art lovers and enthusiasts, in 1859 he exhibited in Naples and in 1861 in Florence, presenting the paintings Pontine Marshes and Roman Campagna, which will mark his definitive departure from historical painting in favor of romantic and melancholic views of the Roman countryside. It is therefore in this scenario that our canvas is inserted, which clearly demonstrates the poetic note and the majestic calm that the artist managed to instill in his works. The calibrated compositional structure of the scene is composed of a bright landscape, with lush vegetation, with farmers and animals in the backgr   ...  [Displaying 1000 of 1570 characters.]  Artist bio
