J.A. (Jane Anthony) Davis (1821 - 1855) was active/lived in Connecticut, Rhode Island.  JA Davis is known for Naive portrait painting.

Born in Rhode Island and living there in Providence and Warwick and Norwich, Connecticut, Jane Anthony, married to Edwin Anthony, used her initials, which was a common practice for women artists of that era.  She was a prolific portrait painter, completing more than 75 works.  Among her paintings were miniatures and watercolors.
