Sandra Chevrier (Born 1983) is active/lives in Quebec / Canada.  Sandra Chevrier is known for Hyperrealistic paintings of women.

Debuting at Art Basel Miami Beach in 2014, Sandra Chevrier burst on the scene following Swizz Beatz’s exhibition of his curatorial project “The Dean Collection,” which featured a range of emerging and established Street Artists.  Her sensual portraits of women clothed in collaged superhero comics caught the immediate attention and praise of the art world not only for their powerful and bold imagery but the message they conveyed.

Chevrier has exhibited throughout North America and Europe, including shows at the Saatchi Gallery, London and the Museum of Urban Art, Berlin. 

Sandra Chevrier, who calls herself a “gaze collector,” creates hyper-realistic paintings of women that stare out towards the viewer.  Reinterpreting the superhero mask, Chevrier covers these images with a collage of comic book prints, using scenes from Superman and Batman to conceal the faces of these idealized women.  Chevrier selects sections of comic books that portray “fragile hero   ...  [Displaying 1000 of 1309 characters.]  Artist bio
