Yang Yu was born in 1983 in Jiangsu.  She got her bachelor and master degree of Department of Chinese Figure Painting in Nanjing University of The Arts in 2005 and 2010 respectively.  She was guided by Professor Zhou Jingxin.

She is working in Nantong Art Academy.  Also, she is the member of Jiangsu Chinese Painting Association.
