Alfonso Iannelli

Alfonso Iannelli (1888 - 1965) was active/lived in Illinois, California / Italy.  Alfonso Iannelli is known for Sculptor-art deco figure, architect.

 Born in Andretta, Italy on Feb. 17, 1888.  Ianelli came to the U.S. as a child.  He studied art with George Bridgman, Gutzon Borglum, Wm St John Harper, and at the ASL in NYC and Newark Technical School.  From 1911-13 he was an instructor at the Los Angeles Sketch Club and was active in Los Angeles until 1915.  His last 50 years were spent in Chicago; he died there on March 23, 1965. Exh: AIC, 1921, 1925 (solo); Minneapolis, 1926; Century of Progress Expo (Chicago), 1933.  In:  Adler Planetarium (Chicago); Winnebago Co. Court House (Oshkosh, WI); Woodbury Co. Court House (Sioux City, IA); Bronson Park (Kalamazoo, MI); AIC; St Francis Xavier School (Wilmette, IL); Golden West Hotel, San Diego (exterior figures); Racine (WI) High School.
