Arkadi Aleksandrovich Plastov

Arkadi Aleksandrovich Plastov (1893 - 1972) was active/lived in Russian Federation.  Arkadi Plastov is known for Landscape and portrait painting, graphic art, sculpture.

Plastov was one of the top ten Soviet Painters of the century. He was a painter, graphic artist and sculptor. He often painted life if the rural village.

From 1912-1914 he studied at the Stroganov College in Moscow under F.F.Fyodorovsky.

From 1914 to 1917, he studied in the sculpture department at the Moscow College of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture in the class of S.M.Volnukhin. Plastov began exhibiting in 1929 and began exhibiting with the Union of Soviet Artists in 1931. Some of his important shows included:

Twenty Years of the Workers, and Peasants’ Red Army in Moscow in 1938; Industry of Socialism in Moscow in 1939; All-Union Art Exhibition in Moscow in 1946, 1947, 1949, 1950, 1951, 1952, 1955 and Soviet-Russia in Moscow in 1960.
