Du Wang

Du Wang (Born 1956) is active/lives in China.  Du Wang is known for Painting.

Wang Du left China in 1989 after the Tian'anmen Square events and fled to Paris. Wang Du's work is an attempt to unveil the sophisticated deformations that the media apply to reality. 

In his sculptures and monumental installations, the artist fragments and stages the imagery of this mediatized reality, its advertising or propaganda content, which he doubles and enlarges, thereby distorting it. By stopping the continuous flow of these images that capture the viewer while escaping him, he manages to demystify them, to take away some of their power.

The artist has lived and worked in Paris since 1990.
