Jose Manuel Capuletti

Jose Manuel Capuletti (1925 - 1978) was active/lived in Spain.  Jose Capuletti is known for Watercolor, painting, and aquapainting with a surrealist style, portraits, and scenographies for ballet.

José Manuel Capuletti was a self-taught artist from Spain who specialized in watercolor, painting, and aquapainting with a surrealist style, often featuring the human figure. He also created scenographies and figurines for ballet and painted portraits of famous individuals such as Arthur Rubinstein, Charles Boyer, and the Duke and Duchess of Windsor. Capuletti settled in Paris in 1950 and gained recognition from critics and the public. He also maintained connections with the world of theater and flamenco in Spain. Capuletti held exhibitions in New York and returned to Spain in 1967. Two years later, he exhibited portraits of flamenco singers and dancers at the Ateneo de Sevilla. Unfortunately, he died unexpectedly during a trip to Germany in 1976 and was buried in the cemetery of Walluf
