Born near Paris, France, he desired to become a comic artist at a young age and studied at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts d'Angoulême where he won the Alph-Art Avenir prize.  In 1991 he began working at an animation studio where he worked on the Ninja Turtle and Denver The Dinosaur series until 1994.

In 1992 he began drawing the fantasy series Gorn with others to follow:
