Places are complex, full of botanical life, waterways, marginalized histories, built structures, and more, all of which can offer clues to cultures.


Each body of work is inspired by site specific research into land use, ecologies, hydrologies, human histories, and geologies. Material engagement is foundational to my practice. I forage plant fibers, sediment, water, and make drawings to gain psychological impressions and witness poignant evidence of human activity. Site materials serve as art materials for hand-processes, including papermaking, analog photography, printmaking, gilding, sculpture, and more. Technical innovation in the studio invigorates my practice, guided by a regenerative philosophy—where material use and actions benefit all systems holistically.
