Yanqun Xue

Yanqun Xue (late 20th century) was active/lived in China.  Yanqun Xue is known for Painting.

Born in Daliang, Liaoning Province, China, Xue Yanqun graduated from the Oil Painting Department of Lu Xun Art Academy, where he remained until 1989 in order to gain his Master's. During this time, he became a member of the Chinese Artists' Association and in subsequent years, Professor of the Academy. Xue is also a member of the Oil Painting Institute of China. His formative works were greatly influenced by Russian art, to which period 'Haystack', 'A Naked Older' and 'Teachers' are attributed. However, over the course of his graduate student programme, he was exposed the work of the Italian Renaissance Masters and his mature style combines these influences with traditional Chinese characteristics. The result is a bright and elegant style. The representative work 'Pigeon', which was exhibited at “The First Oil Painting Exhibition of China”, typifies his indisputably Oriental portraiture and figurative skills.
