Christopher Jenkins is an American painter who specializes in transportation subjects and landscapes. He he retired after a 34 year career in the freight railroad industry, so he is familiar with his favorite subject matter.He paints in a realistic style. His objective is to capture the essence of a scene or a machine, but without distracting detail. In many of the paintings, the artist has worked to create a sense of motion.The paintings are created using a variety of high quality oil paints, brushes and other tools, including the painting knife.Due to his schedule the artist is currently unable to accept commission work, but does make some new paintings available for sale.The artist describes his creative process as follows: " I begin by making several pencil sketches from different angles and distances. Once I am confident I have a solid plan, I make a more detailed sketch with appropriate shading.
