Genis Capdevilla Puig

Genis Capdevilla Puig (1860/72 - 1929) was active/lived in Spain.  Genis Capdevilla Puig is known for Portrait, figure, genre, still life painting.

A painter specialising in genre scenes, landscape and flower paintings, Genís Capdevila took part in most of the exhibitions held in Barcelona between 1894 and 1929. His contribution to the 1929 Barcelona Universal Exhibition, a large canvas entitled "Primavera" ("Spring"), is particularly noteworthy. He was also a member of the Agrupación de Acuarelistas de Cataluña (Association of Watercolourists of Catalonia). In 1936, on the fourth anniversary of his death, a group of friends and admirers held an event in his memory in Barcelona. Genís Capdevila is currently represented in the MACBA, as well as in important collections such as the Joaquín Rivero Collection.
