James Edgar Mitchell (1871 - 1922) was active/lived in England.  James Mitchell is known for Portrait, figure and landscape painting, teaching.

Portrait, figure and landscape painter in oils and watercolours; also Art Teacher, James Mitchell first began to practice as a professional artist in Dundee moving to Northumbria and then to Newcastle in 1894 where he maintained studios in the Haymarket.

Exhibited: Royal Scottish Society of Painters in Water Colours; the Royal Scottish Academy; and the Royal Academy.
