Loren Fry

Loren G. Fry (1924 - 2016) was active/lived in Michigan, Illinois.  Loren Fry is known for Cowboy genre-horses.

Painting today's ranch life on the High Plains, Fry was born in Chicago, Illinois in 1924, making his home in Benton Harbor, Michigan.  He attended the Chicago Academy of Fine Art, co-founding an advertising agency in Chicago after World War II, and subsequently working as an art director for 22 years.

In the mid 1960s he painted a series of covers for The Quarter Horse Journal and in the 1970s he began taking western vacation trips, serving as "house artist" at the Fear Ranch in the Green River Valley, Wyoming and riding with the ranch hands on the Cueno Verde Eanch in south central Colorado in 1975, which marks the year he began painting full-time.

He has been featured in the June 1977 issue of The Western Horseman and in Southwest Art, May 1978. His paintings have also been reduced for the Dan Post Boot Company calendars.
