Rafael Lozano Bartolozzi

Rafael Lozano Bartolozzi (1943 - 2009) was active/lived in Spain.  Rafael Bartolozzi is known for Painting, sculpture, ceramics, illustration, mural and easel painting.

Rafael Lozano Bartolozzi was a Spanish painter and sculptor who studied at the School of Fine Arts in Barcelona and the School of Mural Painting in Sant Cugat del Vallès. He worked with Eduardo Arranz, Gerard Sala, and Robert Llimós between 1966 and 1968, and continued to work with Arranz until 1982. Bartolozzi's style included elements of erotic suggestion, and he was one of the introducers of the "happening" in Catalonia. 

He worked in various techniques, such as ceramics, illustration, sculpture, mural and easel painting. He settled in Vespella de Gaià in 1972, where he was mayor and promoted numerous cultural activities in the town, such as the open-air sculpture park. In 2007, the Bartolozzi Foundation was created in the town to collect and disseminate his work, as well as promote the work of new artists. He is represented in various museums, including the MACBA in Barcelona and the Museum of Contemporary Art in Navarre.
