George Mock

George Andrew Mock (1886 - 1957) was active/lived in Indiana, Illinois.  George Mock is known for Land-snowscape painting.

George Andrew Mock was born in Muncie, IN and after years of being a marginal student in elementary and secondary school, enrolled in Muncie Normal so as to take drawing classes. He lasted a year before he decamped to Chicago, where he studied at the Art Institute for four years.

He remained in Chicago after concluding his studies and practiced commercial art.
Mock made an early trip to Brown County around 1910 and was surprised to find a relatively thriving artists colony there.

He returned again ten years later at which point he made regular painting trips, often hanging out with his friend, photographer Frank Hohenberger.
