Vasili (Vasily) Rozhdestvensky (1884 - 1963) was active/lived in Russian Federation.  Vasili Rozhdestvensky is known for Modernist still life and landscape painting, graphic art.

Vasily Vasilyevich Rozhdestvensky was born in Tula on May 24, 1884. His father was a priest who expected his son to follow in his footsteps. Thus, Vasily was put to the Tula religious school. At that time already the boy showed outstanding talent for art noticed by his art teacher L. Samygin.

At the age of 16 Vasily Rozhdestvensky decided to go in for painting in a big way. He moved to Moscow and entered the Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture.

The prominent artists Konstantin Korovin, A. Arkhipov, Valentin Serov, and Lev Pasternak were his teachers. During the training the beginning artist mixed with Robert Falk, Aristarkh Lentulov, Aleksandr Kuprin, Ilya Mashkov, and Pyotr Konchalovsky.
Almost from the very beginning Vasily Rozhdestvensky diverted from classical painting to its modern trends.
