William Schulhoff

William K. Schulhoff (1898 - 1943) was active/lived in Pennsylvania.  William Schulhoff is known for Landscape and figur painting, graphics.

William K. Schulhoff was born on March 19, 1898 in Romania. He was living in Philadelphia by 1914 where he attended Central High School in Philadelphia, followed by the Spring Garden Institute, Graphic Sketch Club, and Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts.

He studied at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts in 1921-22 and at the Chester Springs landscape school of the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts in 1923-25 and 1927 where he undoubtedly would have had Daniel Garber as a teacher. He was awarded two prestigious traveling Cresson Scholarships from the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts in 1924 and 1925.

He exhibited at the Academy from 1929-31 as well as in New York City and Pittsburgh. His painting Figure Composition was purchased by the Academy in 1930.

Schulhoff exhibited at the Printemps Gallery in Paris in 1926 and his work is in the permanent collections of the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, the Philadelphia Museum of Art, the   ...  [Displaying 1000 of 1130 characters.]  Artist bio
