A 20th-century illustrator who was a student of N.C. Wyeth and Harvey Dunn, Clark Fay did illustrations for the Saturday Evening Post and Delineator.  As a young man, he traveled East from Denver, Colorado to study with Wyeth and Dunn.

In the United States, he lived primarily in Westport, Connecticut, but spent most of his career in London and Paris.

He was an enthusiastic polo player, serving in Connecticut as captain of the Fairfield County Hunt Club of which he was a founder and which became the Westport Hunt Club.  The Fays were both well known in that community.  When he and his wife, illustrator Nancy Fay, divorced, he moved to Chamant, near Paris and later settled in London.
