As it was customary the sons of Francesco Francia (Bologna, around 1447-1449 - 1517), Giacomo and Giulio, worked from a very young age in the flourishing workshop of their father: in the works executed when he is still alive Francesco is very difficult to recognize their operated by that of the master both to distinguish the respective hands. However, thanks to the analysis of the few certain works - The Madonna and Child enthroned, two little angels, the Saints Gervasio and Protasio and in the center the Ss. Caterina, Giustina with four Benedictine nuns, signed "JACOBUS FRANCIA P: MDXLIII". Today in the church of S. Maria di Piazza in Busto Arsizio, and the ancona of the church of S.
