Hanny Fries (1918 - 2009) was active/lived in Switzerland.  Hanny Fries is known for Painting, drawing, press art, graphic art, enamel art, and illustration.

Hanny Fries was a Swiss artist born in Zurich in 1918. She received her first art lessons from her father, Willy Fries, who was also a painter. She studied at the Zurich School of Applied Arts and the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Geneva. Fries worked as a freelance artist in Geneva and Zurich, and also had her own studio in Paris. She was a member of the Society of Swiss Painters and Sculptors, and served on the Federal Art Commission and the board of the Zurich Art Society. Fries made regular study trips to various locations, including the U.S., England, southern France, Corsica, Venice, and Tuscany. She spent her later years in southern France during the spring and in Castiglione della Pescaia during the summer. Fries passed away in Zurich in 2009
